Empowering Students to Achieve Their Goals
Throughout my 20 years of experience as an educator I have successfully built a reputation of being a dedicated educator and a cooperative leader. I have held the positions of Superintendent, High school Principal, IB Diploma Coordinator, Academic & College Counseling Advisor. Additionally, I am working with the International Baccalaureate as DP consultant and I am involved in the process of evaluating IB DP schools, candidate schools and CAS programs. I have been able to develop an understanding of students as individuals, in order to maximise their potential. I am responsible for the academic achievement and wellbeing of students; establishing a safe and stimulating environment for all students, rooted in mutual respect. I advice and help students to choose different pathways for their High school Diploma whether IB Diploma or American Diploma and explain the differences between both Diplomas and how to maximize their success in whichever root they choose.
Additionally, I conduct one-on-one meetings with students and their families to discuss future options, subject choices and respond to parents’ & students enquiries, ensuring that students make the right choices that suits their projected careers and university majors. Guiding, fostering and maintaining students’ interest through the university process is a major part of my job. I offer various workshops to students including college essays’ writing, building resumes, filling out applications and understanding various application systems. Many of my students have been successful in joining top institutions around the globe. I have enjoyed managing and leading the IB Diploma staff & American Diploma staff; ensuring the correct delivery of the IB Diploma requirements, administering IB Diploma exams & delivering specific professional development to staff including reference writing, Extended essay & creating assessments workshops.
